C++ training program

C++ training program

A training program in C++ programming was organised in Nantes, from 12th to 15th of January 2015.

C++ is a popular and powerful programming language with extensive parallelisation possibilities and is a language of choice for modellers world wide. This training will provide the modellers of project MIHMES the freedom to customise available software to their own needs, to write their own codes for simulation and inference and to participate fully in collaborative modelling projects where development of C++ code is an essential prerequisite of the intended analysis. The training consists of an intensive introduction course covering a large range of code snippets, libraries and strategies deemed most pertinent for epidemiological modelling. This will be followed up by various reinforcement exercise where newly learnt concepts will be converted into refined skills through the experience of developing various codes inspired by models in veterinary epidemiology. The initial training was provided by Jean Michel Richer, a research/teaching fellow of the University of Angers.
