Work Packages

The AgriLink project is managed through 7 main work packages (WPs), each of which covers one or more aspects of the project.  Each WP is jointly led by an academic and a more practice-oriented partner.

  • WP1  (Multi-level framework) will develop the overall conceptual framework for the research undertaken in the project.  This work will utilise a multi-level perspective (MLP) to integrate multiple disciplinary (economics, sociology, etc.) and interdisciplinary approaches at micro, meso and macro levels.

 WP Leaders: Lee-Ann Sutherland (HUTT) and Pierre Labarthe (INRA)

  • WP2  (Innovation case studies in Focus Regions: micro to meso AKIS analysis) aims to understand why, how and from whom European farmers and farm managers gather and exchange information (their microAKIS) to underpin their decision-making regarding the adoption (or not) of different types of innovation.  This work will be undertaken in 26 focus regions and in relation to 8 innovation areas.  WP2 will also lead to a better description and mapping of the regional farm advisory systems (R-FAS) in the focus regions.

WP Leaders: Livia Madureira (UTAD) and Cristina Micheloni (VIN)

  • WP3  (Living Labs for innovation support services) will engage a range of practitioners (including farmers, researchers, advisors and other actors) in the co-creation and testing of new and improved innovation support services.  A total of 6 Living Laboratories will be established across Europe, with a web engagement strategy also developed to capture and share methods, practices and lessons from the Living Labs for the benefit of the wider stakeholder community involved in regional, national and European AKIS. 

WP Leaders: Herman Schoorlemmer (WR) and Kristof Severijns (ISP)

  • WP4  (Assessing EU-FAS and the governance of national advisory systems) will analyse the governance of farm advisory systems at national and European level in order to understand better what national models of governance exist and how these impact upon the effectiveness of advisory systems.  One specific task in WP4 will be an assessment of the EU-FAS regulation.

WP Leaders: Pierre Labarthe (INRA) and Alberto Lafarga (INTIA)

  • WP5  (Integration, Transition Scenarios and Recommendations) will undertake an integrated assessment of the data collected and lessons in the preceding WPs 2, 3 and 4.  This will support the development of policy recommendations and be used as input for socio-technical scenario (STSc) workshops in all partner countries to examine the role of farm advice in stimulating the transition towards more sustainable farming systems. 

WP Leaders: Boelie Elzen (WR) and Jaroslav Prazan (EKOT)

  • WP6  (Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation) will underpin the high scientific and practical ambitions of the project, as well as maximise its lasting impact, by guaranteeing the engagement of relevant actors with specific project activities and actively promoting the widespread dissemination and exploitation of project results.  A key feature of WP6 will be an interactive peer-review process for the validation of practice abstracts by practitioners.

WP Leaders: Mark Redman (HCC) and Talis Tisenkofs (BSC)

  • WP7  (Consortium coordination and project management) will ensures the smooth running and optimal set-up of the project activities.  Particular attention will be paid to the quality of interactions with the International Advisory Board and the SCAR AKIS-SWG throughout the project.
