Subfamily : Drepanosiphinae

Genus characterized by large-sized elongate individuals with broad cornicles.

Drepanosiphum is dependent on Acer. It is well known in Europe and préesent in North Ameri.

All viviparous females are alate, oviparous females show the abdomen prolonged into a cone.

Morphs have antennae longer than body with round rhinaria on segment 3, distributed over first third (1/3) of segment.
Cornicles are large, broad and end in a constriction. Cauda knobbed.

This genus produces copious amounts of honeydew but individuals are not visited by ants
