Sweet chestnut aphid

1.6-1.7 mm.
A yellow aphid, all the parthenogenetic adults are alates.
Larva: antennae short, ringed at articulations; abdomen covered with numerous hairs.
Alate: dark longitudinal medial stripe on head and thorax and abdomen bears pigmented spots in pairs and marginal sclerites.

Monoecious holocyclic

Castanea sativa (sweet chestnut) and Quercus spp (oak).

Myzocallis castanicola colonizes the underside of sweet chestnut leaves and occasionally on oak leaves. The sexual forms appear in autumn.
