Subfamily : Thelaxinae

The genus <i>Thelaxes</i> depends on <i>Quercus</i>. It is present in Europe, with three species.

These species are characterized by their antennae with 5 segments and a very short processus terminalis, ring-shaped cornicles, a knobbed cauda and wings with medial vein once-branched.

Two species are frequent on oak: Thelaxes dryophila and T. suberi. 

T. suberi is also occasional on sweet chestnut.
