Tuberculatus (Tuberculoides) annulatus (Hartig, 1841)

Common oak aphid

1.2-2.2 mm.
Yellow to greenish aphid, even pink or purple in summer.
Larva and nymph: antenna dark brown at segmental sutures, capitate hairs present on abdomen, cornicles short, cauda rounded et anal patch complete.
Alate: antenna same length as body, ringed and segmental sutures with processus terminalis very short, abdomen with three pairs of tubercles the 3rd of which is clearly distnctive by its size and pigmentation, cornicles straight, short and darkened at tip, cauda knobbed and bilobed anal patch.

Monoecious holocyclic

Quercus spp and more particularly Quercus robur, pedunculate oak

Tuberculatus annulatus colonize the underside of leaves of pedunculate oak and occasionally of sessile oak. Individuals form small scattered colonies. The sexual forms appear in autumn.
