Morphology

Small ladybird (3-5 mm) with beige or fawn color, oblong.
Its frons is ornamented with chestnut spots and others that are diffuse. The pronotum is marked with oblique brown spots forming an M. Its elytra when closed form an elongate cone and an angular dorsum. They are spotted with brown, especially along the central ridge.

Host aphids

Adelgidae, Elatobium, could also feed on scale insects.

Habitat

The species depends strongly on conifers with needles, principally larch, Douglas fir and spruce, occasionally pine, cedar or firs.
