Anthocoridae

In most cases the Anthocoridae are non-specific predators living on the aerial parts of plants. They are generally ubiquitous, even if certain species tend to prefer particular plants.

The female hibernates, the male sometimes does the same. The eggs are laid individually under the epidermis of leaves and stems of host plants. The larva, which hatches from the egg, goes through 5 stages before becoming an adult. Depending on the species and climate, 1-3 successive annual generations are produced.

They feed on aphids, Psylla, Psocoptera (booklice), eggs of diverse insects (Lepidoptera, Hymenoptera, etc.) and larva of Homoptera.
