Morphology

Female: 5.5-7.0 mm, completely black, sometimes tarsi are a little brownish

Biology

The female firstly sets up a nest in a single gallery which further on splits into several branches each of which is doted with one or several cells (there can be more than 20).

Habitat

The nests of this terricolous species are dug into sandy or argilo-siliceous ground.

Prey

Diverse species of aphids including Hyalopterus pruni.
