Wings

Wings

The alates have two pairs of hyaline wings with only sparse venation.

The forewings are much larger than the hindwings.
In the Aphididae the extent of venation development depends on the families or subfamilies.
The wings are transparent, apart from rare exceptions, with veins rather faintly marked in most cases.
However, some genera can be distinguished with veins that are very dark or show a strongly pigmented pterostigma.
