The antennae of Anoeciinae are medium in length with the processus terminalis very short. In alates, secondary rhinaria are round.
The median wing vein is once-branched and the pterostigma is dark.
The cornicles are small, cone shaped and the cauda rounded.
The life cycle is host-alternating between Cornus and the roots of Poaceae.
