Eriosomatinae

Aphididae : Eriosomatinae

They have short antennae with 5 or 6 segments and a processus terminalis very short. In alates, the secondary rhinaria are flattened and give antennal segments a "pile-of-plates” appearance.

The cornicles can simply be a pore or absent.
The cauda is rounded.
The wing venation is incomplete: the medial vein is not branched or only once-branched.
The life cycle involves host-alternating: formation of galls on trees (primary host) and migration onto roots of secondary hosts.
