IDEAS

IDEAS, the Initiative for Design in Agrifood Systems, was born from the desire of three INRAE departments (ACT, Agroecosystem, and TRANSFORM), in coordination with AgroParisTech, to foster synergies between their research units’ different projects on and for design. IDEAS' expertise pertains to the analysis and implementation of participatory processes to design new products, technologies and services in agri-food systems, combining a range of disciplines: agronomy, food science and bioproducts, (bio)process engineering for food processing, ecology and genetics, zootechnics, the humanities and social sciences, and modelling.

Our work concerns three core activities: research for and on design methods; training actors and students to disseminate these methods; and supporting design projects with our support platform, in partnership with various innovation actors (from agricultural development, research, industry, etc.).
