Approche spécifique de la thématique

Initiée en 2005, la thématique de l’équipe s’intègre dans une démarche collaborative, régionale et nationale associant les cliniciens et les chercheurs autour de la Nutrition et du Cancer, pendant et après la maladie.

Au sein de cette thématique, nous avons développé de nouvelles organisations (transfert de compétence médico-diététique), de nouveaux outils et programmes d'éducation thérapeutique validés par l'ARS Occitanie, et des études cliniques « médicamenteuses » et « non médicamenteuses ». Cette dernière approche, plus récente, orientée en Sciences Humaines et Sociales, est réalisée en partenariat avec le SIRIC Montpellier. De plus, et en partenariat avec l'équipe du Pr Baracos (Edmonton, Canada), nous avons développé une base clinique prospective partagée à l'international.

Principales études cliniques pour 2018

• LEAn body mass Normalization of Oxaliplatin based chemotherapy for stage III colon cancer patients treated in adjuvant setting: Impact on Oxaliplatin-induced sensitive neurotoxicity. A Multicenter Phase II Randomized trial, PHRC-K15-209.
  • The primary objective is to determine whether the Oxaliplatin dose adaptation/normalization based on the lean body mass index can prevent or reduce neurotoxicity associated with Oxaliplatin, for stage III colon cancer patients treated in adjuvant setting with simplified FOLFOX 4 regimen.
  • Study design: Phase II multicenter randomised trial
  • Recruitment planned: 308 patients (50 patients enrolled in november 2018).

• Double-Blind Multicenter Phase III trial evaluating the efficacy of an oral immune modulating formulae on survival during postoperative concomitant chemoradiotherapy in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), SIMPA01 GORTEC 2017-02, PHRC-K16
  • The primary objective is to evaluate the efficacy on disease-free survival of a formula enriched with L-arginine, omega-3 fatty acids, and ribonucleic acids, taken for 5 days before each cycle of chemotherapy, in patients with high-risk locally-advanced HNSCC treated with postoperative concomitant chemoradiotherapy (CRT).
  • Study design: Phase III multicenter randomised trial
  • Recruitement planned: 306 patients
