The meeting first allowed summarizing data collected on the variety panel by the different teams, removing redundant or less informative data, and building a matrix of key traits for the varietal selection. Each key trait has been associated to one or several ecosystem services (eg: % soil cover associated to weed control). With this synthetic matrix, multivariate analysis (Ward, DAPC) identified 4 clusters in the 60-varieties panel. These 4 clusters are coherent with existing genetic groups (Magic varieties, landraces, elite varieties). The final selection of 16 varieties will balance the contributions of these 4 groups!
